Assistantships

Graduate Research Assistantships (GRAs)
Graduate student applicants apply for Graduate Research Assistantships (GRAs) at the same time they apply for admission. It is also possible for continuing students to apply for a GRA in a subsequent semester. To be hired as a GRA, you must be full-time (enrolled for at least 9-18 credit hours during fall and spring semesters).  These awards include tuition waivers as well as a stipend. GRAs are expected to work 8-16 hours a week, depending on funding, and to remain students in good standing. The amount of the stipend as well as the work hours may vary if a student becomes involved in a funded project with faculty. Assistantships are awarded primarily in the fall semester. Some may be awarded for the spring semester pending funding availability.
