    Forum on Childhood Obesity

    The Andrew Young School of Policy Studies of Georgia State University and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta are hosting a forum on childhood obesity entitled "Weighing Our Options: Addressing Youth Obesity in a Lean Economy." This forum will provide an overview of the problem, potential causes, consequences, and explore solutions using simulation models.

    This forum will provide an overview of the problem, potential causes, consequences, and explore solutions using simulation models. Panelists will be:

    •Prof. John Cawley is an associate professor in the Department of Policy Analysis and Management at Cornell University.

    •Dr. S. Elizabeth Ford is Director of the Division of Public Health at the Georgia Department of Human Resources.

    •Chris Soderquist graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences and founded Pontifex Consulting in 1998.

    •Moderator: Prof. Inas Rashad is an assistant professor in the Department of Economics in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University.

    Affiliates of this forum include the Georgia Health Policy Center, Georgia State's Institute of Public Health, and Atlanta Regional Health Forum.
