Inta “Maggie” Tolan was named Georgia State University’s “Advisor of the Year” at the 2011 Royal Flame Awards Ceremony held April 18 in the Student Center Ballroom. Tolan is director of academic programs and alumni affairs for the Andrew Young School’s Department of Public Management and Policy.
Bestowed by GSU Student Affairs, the annual Royal Flame Awards ceremony honors outstanding student leaders and their organizations, as well as the outstanding student advisor. Tolan was nominated for the award by PMAP’s Nonprofit Leadership Alliance and the PMAP Community Network student groups.
“This is a well-deserved recognition for Maggie,” says Professor Harvey Newman, department chair. “She has provided effective leadership for the two student organizations in the Department of Public Management and Policy. It is fitting that Maggie was nominated for the award by the students themselves.”
