The Atlanta Committee for Progress and the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, Georgia State University formed a partnership in the summer 2009 to produce a series of case studies of major policy issues faced by the City of Atlanta in recent years. Each case study will provide background information to understand the context of the issue, the process used to address the problem, options considered, steps in the implementation of the chosen option, and an assessment of the initiative. The case studies will consider what steps remain to make Atlanta the "best in class." The series of cases will inform the debate for the candidates who are seeking the office of mayor and will provide a list of resources for those wishing to learn more about the issues. An archive of the materials gathered by the GSU research team will also be provided to the library for the use of future scholars.
