Yoon Jik Cho is an assistant professor in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies. He holds an M.P.A. from Seoul National University and a Ph.D. in Public Affairs from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University.
Dr. Cho specializes in public management; he is especially interested in the role of trust in public management, leadership, human resource management, and quantitative methods. His dissertation investigates the effects of trust in supervisors within federal agencies. It tests the effects of trust on organizational performance, explores trustworthiness as an antecedent of trust, and investigates how external control on bureaucracy and organizational changes affect trust and trustworthiness. Dr. Cho’s current research projects deal with effects of interpersonal trust within federal agencies, and role of managerial trustworthiness as a moderator of individual motivation and management practices. His research is presently under review in the Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, American Review of Public Administration, Public Management Review, and other journals.
