Andrew Hanson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Georgia State University. His primary fields of research are urban economics and public finance. Within these fields he has conducted research on the outcomes for both individuals and firms of geographically targeted subsidy programs, the incidence of federal housing subsidies, the incidence of tobacco taxation, and the utilization of tax credits intended for low income populations. He has served as a staff economist for the Council of Economic Advisers in Washington, D.C. and his work has been published in the National Tax Journal and Regional Science and Urban Economics.
