Deon Locklin is Director of the Public Performance and Management Group, and an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Public Management and Policy. She brings extensive experience delivering technical assistance, executive coaching, instruction, and applied research within the public sector. She has conducted over 500 seminars, presentations, and guest lectures for state administrators, governing boards, and state-appointed councils. Employed by Georgia State University since 1992, Locklin has created and managed numerous development programs for emerging leaders in nonprofit organizations and state agencies. She assists organizations with market-driven strategy development, the design and implementation of leadership succession programs, and organizational performance evaluation. In addition, she has conducted multiple field-based research projects in needs analysis, customer satisfaction assessment, and performance measurement.

In her current role, Locklin focuses on building organizational and leadership capacity within the public sector. She received her master’s degree at Auburn University and is currently ABD for a doctorate in Organizational Leadership.
