ECON 4810: International FinanceWith the increased globalization of the world economy, businesses want to hire graduates knowledgeable in international investment, banking and multinational activities. This course provides the background for performing well in such jobs. The course examines international financial markets and the decision-making processes of multinational firms. We will study issues such as the Asian and Russian financial crises, the foreign exchange market, futures, options and swap currency contracts. We will study the basis for exchange-rate determination and different regimes, including currency board arrangements. (3 credit hours) Prerequisite: Econ 2105.
