ECON 8110: Macroeconomic AnalysisThis is a course designed to acquaint the student with general developments in macroeconomic theory. Moreover, the objective is to understand the real-world policy applications of these developments. At the end of the course, the student should be well acquainted with the basics of the Keynesian, monetarist, and new-classical (equilibrium) approaches. It is also important to know their implications for policy and how these approaches fare with the empirical evidence. Students learn to analyze macroeconomic issues and provide policy advice using a consistent framework. (3 credit hours) Prerequisites: Econ 3900 and Econ 6030 or DSc 8070.
