ECON 8740: Applied Statistics and EconometricsThe purpose of this course is to provide the skills necessary to do preliminary analysis of economic data and reviews of statistical work. The focus will be on the relationship among economic variables. The techniques of least squares regression and maximum likelihood will be applied to real data for the purposes of policy analysis in areas as diverse as health, labor markets, finance, development, and taxation.
