ECON 9220: Advanced Labor EconomicsThis doctoral-level course, the first of a two-course sequence, will provide a literature review of basic topics in labor economics, such as labor supply, wage determination, and human capital, and an introduction to a variety of new, non-standard topics, such as the economics of human resource management, behavioral and institutional economics, and transaction cost economics. This course provides a theoretical and empirical foundation for the analysis of issues in the areas of labor supply, labor demand, and human capital. There is a strong emphasis on the policy implications of the theoretical models and empirical techniques studied. (3 credit hours) Prerequisites: Econ 8100 and Econ 8750.
