ECON 9310: Environmental and Resource Economics IThis course is part of a two-course sequence designed to provide students with a working knowledge of the models and analytical techniques used in the design of public policy for the management and conservation of natural and environmental systems. Topics to be covered fall roughly into two parts: (1) externalities, environmental systems, and alternative policy instruments, and (2) natural resource management. Theoretical models in each of these topics are presented within the context of contemporary environmental and natural resource management problems such as regional and national air pollution policies and intra-state water allocation.
