PAUS 8321: Economic Development Policy and PlanningImproving the economy has important implications for employment, infrastructure, tax base, and overall quality of life. As a result, it is a policy area relevant to all levels of government. In this course, you will learn about economic development programs, tools, and outcomes. Strategic approaches to economic development are addressed via similar strategies at different levels of government, including community organizing, targeting small businesses, and technology-based approaches. Students will gain not only a strong theoretical understanding of economic development, but will learn about economic development initiatives in the real world via applied examples and projects.
