PAUS 8561: GIS Applications to Planning and Policy AnalysisThe main purpose of the course is to demonstrate the application of GIS in different fields including planning, transportation, environment, business, real estate, etc. While students are expected to gain a working knowledge of most of the functions of a GIS software (ARC/VIEW), the main emphasis of the course is on the "analytical" aspects of projects using GIS. Guest speakers will be invited to present real projects, and field trips will be conducted to a number of agencies implementing GIS in their systems. (3 credit hours) Prerequisite: PAUS 8121.
