Student Organizations
at the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies

The Economics Club. Students with a major in economics are invited to participate in this chartered organization. The Economics Club goals are to build collegiality between students majoring in economics and to provide support for all students taking economics courses and considering a career as an economist or in a related field. Among the many activities of the club is a guest speaker series with speakers from local, state and national businesses and governments discussing job opportunities and career paths in their organizations. For information contact the Department of Economics at 404-413-0141, or contact the faculty adviser, Dr. Paul Ferraro.

The Economics Department Graduate Students Association (GSA) is established for the expressed purpose of promoting scholarship and developing a spirit of cooperation and fellowship among economics’ graduate students. Membership in the Economics Graduate Student Association is open to all economics department graduate students officially enrolled at Georgia State University. There are no dues levied on members. To promote academic and social interactions between students and faculty, the GSA organizes and invites notable economists, both internal and external, to present their research to graduate students and faculty. In addition, the GSA in conjunction with the department organizes annual social events in order to increase student-faculty communication and provide an informal forum for the exchange of economic ideas. For information, please contact the advisor, Dr. Erdal Tekin, at 404-413-0163.

Omicron Delta Epsilon. Omicron Delta Epsilon is a national honor society open to students majoring in economics. To be eligible for membership, a student must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. For information about Georgia State's chapter of this honor society or to apply for membership, contact the university's ODE representative, Dr. Paul Ferraro.

PAUS Network. The PAUS Network aims to connect PAUS students, faculty and alumni through social functions, speakers and other events while enhancing the academic and social experiences of graduate students in Public Administration and Urban Studies. PAUS Network supports graduate students in both social and professional arenas. Join the mailing list at http://mailbox.gsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/paus_network.
