The Economics Club. Students
with a major in economics are invited to participate in this chartered
organization. The Economics Club
goals are to build collegiality between students majoring in economics
and to provide support for all students taking economics courses and
considering a career as an economist or in a related field. Among the
many activities of the club is a guest speaker series with speakers
from local, state and national businesses and governments discussing
job opportunities and career paths in their organizations. For information

The Economics Department Graduate Students Association (GSA) is established for the expressed purpose of promoting scholarship and developing a spirit of cooperation and fellowship among economics’ graduate students. Membership in the Economics Graduate Student Association is open to all economics department graduate students officially enrolled at Georgia State University. There are no dues levied on members. To promote academic and social interactions between students and faculty, the GSA organizes and invites notable economists, both internal and external, to present their research to graduate students and faculty. In addition, the GSA in conjunction with the department organizes annual social events in order to increase student-faculty communication and provide an informal forum for the exchange of economic ideas. Omicron Delta Epsilon. Omicron
Delta Epsilon is a national honor society open to students majoring
in economics. To be eligible for membership, a student must have a cumulative
grade point average of 3.0 or higher. For information about Georgia
State's chapter of this honor society or to apply for membership, contact
the university's ODE representative, Dr. Paul Ferraro.
PAUS Network. The PAUS Network aims to connect PAUS students, faculty and alumni through social functions, speakers and other events while enhancing the academic and social experiences of graduate students in Public Administration and Urban Studies. Pi Alpha Alpha. This is the national honor society for the field of public affairs and public administration. The society's purpose is to encourage and recognize outstanding scholarship and accomplishment, to promote the advancement of quality in the education and practice of the art and science of public affairs and administration, and to foster integrity, professionalism and effective performance in the conduct of government and related public service activities. Membership identifies those students with the highest performance levels in academic programs preparing them for public service careers. Dr. William Waugh is the faculty advisor.
