Cynthia Blasdell coordinated design issues for the future
AYSPS building at #2 Peachtree Street Annex, serving as a link between
GSU technology personnel, the GSU project manager, the architect, and
electrical subcontractors; and participated in biweekly planning meetings
with the Georgia Building Authority (GBA) and the architectural firm.
She edited the 2000 Annual Report, and chaired the college Web Oversight
Committee.
Wanda Cooley served on the Graduate Admissions Banner Implementation
Team and the Council of Academic Advisors and served on the college Web
Oversight Committee.
Sue Fagan served on the Class Scheduling and Degree
Audit Banner Implementation Teams, the Class Scheduling Committee, the
Enrollment Management Group, the Staff Advisory Committee, and the Classroom
Facilities Council. She served as guest lecturer in GSU 1010, "New Student
Orientation."
Angeline H. Jackson was certified as a trainer in AIDS/HIV Fundamentals
and in AIDS/HIV African American Fundamentals through the American Red
Cross; created a web site for the Atlanta-Area Evaluation Association
(www.arc.gsu.edu/aea); created a web site for the Dan E. Sweat Distinguished
Scholar Chair in Educational Policy (www.arc.gsu.edu/sweatchair); served
on the college Web Oversight Committee; and completed ministerial training
program in January and was licensed as a minister in pastoral care.
Gardner Neely audited the courses, "Economics of State & Local
Public Finances," "Public Policy Processes," and "Public Sector Economics;"
attended the National Tax Association meetings on "Taxation of Electronic
Commerce" and the Russian tax reform; and attended a presentation by Andrew
Young and Newt Gringrich on foreign affairs and U.S. policy. He hosted,
with his wife, visiting scholar Valary Dolmatov from the physics institute
in Tashkent Uzbeckistan working on particle physics at the GSU Physics
& Astronomy Department. He participated in the Great American Smokeout
sponsored by American Cancer Society and GSU staff services in an effort
to promote wellness among GSU students and staff. He was elected Co-President
2001 of Winnona Park Neighborhood Association, Decatur, Georgia; attended
meetings of the Special Libraries Association on database management and
technology management; served as member, and past officer of the Special
Libraries Association, Georgia Chapter; and served as member and past-president
of the Metro Atlanta Libraries Association.
Jeff Pruett served on the college Web Oversight Committee.
Avani Raval served as departmental
representative for the Faculty/Staff Annual Giving Campaign, and for the
State Charitable Contributions Program. He led the staff-faculty team,
the Volleybahlers, at the GSU volleyball tournament for the second year
in a row.
David Sandt continued to serve as the AYSPS College Administratative
Officer (CAO) representing the School at all University meetings dealing
with college-wide issues; continued to serve as the AYSPS Spectrum coordinator
and campus-rollout team member for the University's new financial system;
and served on the Research Budgetary Committee exploring ways to standardize
and simplify the external sponsored grant pre and post award process.
Dorie Taylor represented AYSPS on the GSU staff advisory council.
Telesa Wilson has been involved in several community volunteer
and service learning activities, including MLK Day preparation in collaboration
with Hands On Atlanta and the "Pot-Luck Charity Event" in collaboration
with local agencies to feed the homeless. She is a member of the Georgia
Campus community Service Association, America Association of University
Women, the Council of Volunteer Administrators of Metro Atlanta and Streams
of Service: AmeriCorps. She worked with the Office of Community Service
Learning on the Into the Streets Event for the 2000 fall semester.
