Application Instructions for the Joint Doctoral Program in Public Policy

Applicants who wish to apply to the joint doctoral program in Public Policy between Georgia State University’s Andrew Young School of Policy Studies and Georgia Institute of Technology’s School of Public Policy should follow this process.

The application process for the joint program requires applicants submit applications and supporting documents to both institutions. The non-refundable application fee covers the submission to both institutions (do not submit two application fees!).

Follow these steps to apply:
1.    Submit Georgia Tech application.  Program will be listed as “Ph.D. in Public Policy (Joint with GSU)”
2.    Submit non-refundable application fee through the Georgia Tech online application.

  • $75 for U.S. applicants
  • $85 for international applicants

3.    Complete this online form to process your application fee waiver for the Georgia State application.
4.    Submit Georgia State application.

  • Select application type “2018 Graduate Programs” when starting the application.
  • On the “Program Selection” page, select college as “Andrew Young School of Policy Studies” and select program as “Public Policy – Joint Program; Doctor of Philosophy”

5.    Submit transcripts, test scores, and other application materials to Georgia Tech and Georgia State University.
