provided technical assistance to Tanzania to consolidate progress on the introduction of a formula-based transfer system and to provide support for the transformation of the local government revenue structure, Dar es Salaam, Tazania, March 27-April 7, 2006.

facilitated a National Conference on the Development of an Intergovernmental Transfer System, Windhoek, Namibia, April 2006.

provided technical assistance on a final visit to facilitate the design of a recurrent and development grant system for Regional Councils, Windhoek, Namibia, July 2006.

conducted a two-day training program on the LOGIN Tanzania System, an online local government finance reporting system that was developed by ISP in close collaboration with the Tanzanian Ministry of Finance and the Prime Minster’s Office, responsible for local government, part of ongoing technical support to fiscal decentralization reforms, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, July 1-7, 2006.

and Eunice Heredia-Ortíz* delivered a week-long training workshop on “Fiscal Decentralization: Concepts and Applications for Bangladesh” at the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center in Savar, Bangladesh, and in Dhaka, Bangladesh, August 5-10, 2006.
