Dr. Tolan has been with the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies since 2008. As Director of AYS Career Services & Student Life, Dr. Tolan is responsible for supporting the career and leadership development of Andrew Young students. She also currently teaches an undergraduate course in Career Planning and Management. 

Dr. Tolan has previously worked at Arizona State University, the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, the University of Vermont, Northern Arizona University, and Southeast Missouri State University.  She has a Doctorate in Higher Education with a focus on Multicultural Counseling, a Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language, and dual bachelor degrees, one in International Marketing and the other in French.  She has studied abroad twice, one year in Colombia, South America and another year in Louvain-La-Neuve, Belgium. She was awarded the 2011 Royal Flame award as GSU's Advisor of the Year.
