Susan Laury, ChairWelcome from the Chair, Department of Economics

Welcome to the Department of Economics in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies. This is an incredibly exciting place to be right now. We have close to thirty professors - and we plan to add to this number this year - who work in countries around the world on a wide range of areas, addressing vital policy issues that are timely, important, and controversial. Our faculty bring this research back to the classroom, where we teach undergraduate and graduate (M.A. and Ph.D.) students how to understand the private market economy, the non-profit sector, and the government. Our students are globally diverse. In all programs, our students learn from and work with some of the best faculty in the country, and after graduation our students are prepared to work in the private, non-profit, or public sectors. If you are looking for a place with energy and imagination, where you can learn and learn to lead, where your creativity can flourish, then we are the Department - and the School - for you.
