Environmental Policy Program

The Environmental Policy Program (EPP) focuses on research and training activities designed to enhance the quality of environmental policy in Georgia and the world. To accomplish our activities, we partner with scholars and practitioners around the globe, and receive support from a diverse set of donors, including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the National Science Foundation and the private sector.

Faculty and students in the program have research interests in a variety of areas including:

  • Air Quality
  • Benefit-Cost Analysis
  • Biodiversity Conservation
  • Environmental Valuation
  • Environmental Gentrification
  • History of Welfare Economics
  • Land Use
  • Natural Disaster Management
  • Program Evaluation
  • Risk Analysis
  • Spatial Econometrics
  • Urban Environmental Quality
  • Water Quality

In addition to publishing high-quality policy research, EPP members advise and train policymakers and practitioners by organizing educational workshops, by publishing non-technical versions of our research in popular media outlets, and by serving on advisory panels for influential organizations such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Global Environment Facility, and the National Institute of Health. In addition, our faculty serve as editor or on the editorial board of the Journal of Environmental Economics & Management, Environmental & Resource Economics, Resource & Energy Economics and the Journal of Emergency Management.
