ATLANTA – Dr. Ronald Angel, a leading expert on poverty and its
effects on health care, will present Growing Up Poor: The Health Care
Safety Net for Vulnerable Children as part of this year’s Child
Policy Speaker Series. The series is sponsored by the Child Policy Initiative.
Dr. Angel will address a growing, potentially catastrophic socioeconomic
issue: poor and minority Americans who cannot provide health insurance
for their families and children, and the serious implications for health
policy that result.
The program is scheduled for Monday, February 23, 2004, at 3:30 p.m.
at 229 Aderhold Learning Center, located at 60 Luckie Street in downtown
Atlanta.
Headquartered in the Georgia Health Policy Center of the Andrew Young
School of Policy Studies, the Child Policy Initiative works to improve
the quality of child policy in Georgia through the skillful application
of current research and analysis.
Additional information and upcoming programs of the Child Policy Speaker
Series are online at www. andrewyoungschool.org.
