The Georgia Consortium for Personal Financial Literacy is hosting a presentation
by Dr. Katherine Willoughby on her paper, "Grading the States 2005:
Results of the Government Performance Project."
Join the Consortium and AYSPS on Thursday, March 31, 2005, at 7:30 a.m.
for this timely and informative meeting as Dr. Willoughby sheds light
on the newly released findings of this important project. States were
graded on their management capacity in the following areas: Money, People,
Infrastructure and Information.
Dr. Katherine Willoughby and AYSPS graduate students, along with journalists
from Governing Magazine, graded states in the U.S. on their money management
for this project. Grades were based on the following criteria: long-term
outlook, budget process, structural balance, contracting/purchasing, and
financial controls/reporting. To review the results from the 2005 research,

The Government Performance Project (GPP) provides comprehensive and independent
information about state management performance. The mission of the GPP
is to give state governments information they can use to improve management
and achieve their goals; the GPP is sponsored by a grant from The Pew
Charitable Trusts.
Coffee will be served at 7:30 a.m.
Program will run from 7:45 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
