  • The Domestic Programs Seminar Series on Friday, November 9, featured Bill Hoyt (University of Kentucky), who presented "Is the Grass Greener on the Other Side of the River: The Choice of Where to Work and Where to Live for Movers."
  • The Child Policy Brown Bag Seminar Series hosted Chris Henrich, who presented "Head Start and Parent Involvement."
  • The Nonprofit Studies Program Brown Bag Seminar on November 6 featured Del Martin from Giving USA.
  • The Economics Seminar Series hosted John S. Earle (The W. E. Upjohn Institute for Employment Research) presenting "Helping Hand or Grabbing Hand? State Bureaucracy and Privatization Effectiveness" on November 2.
  • The Nonprofit Studies Program hosted distinguished speaker, Francie Ostrower, of the Urban Institute, to speak on "How Nonprofit Boards Really Work: Findings from the First National Representative Study." This special UPS Lecture on Nonprofit Leadership, Governance and Economic Stewardship took place October 25, 2007.
  • The 4th Annual Dan Sweat Lecture Series on October 23, 2007, featured Richard Murnane (Harvard University) on "Preparing Students to Thrive in the 21st Century Economy."
  • Kurt E. Schnier (University of Rhode Island) presented "Common Property, Information and Cooperation: Commercial Fishing in the Bering Sea" on September 7, 2007.
  • John Bare of the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation presented “Risk Management and Social Change in the Nonprofit Sector” on September 11, 2007.
