The Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University is ranked 5th in public finance and budgeting, 12th in city management/urban policy, 13th in nonprofit management, 18th in public policy analysis, and 33rd in public management administration and 27th among the top 269 schools in public affairs by U.S. News and World Report’s 2009 rankings of graduate programs.

SCHOLARSHIP, RESEARCH and GLOBAL ACTIVITIES
- 64 faculty, 39 research associates; faculty and research associates have worked in over 30 countries
- Over $36.4 million in active external research funding grants through calendar year 2009
- Eight research units: Domestic Programs, the Experimental Economics Center, the Fiscal Research Center, the Georgia Health Policy Center, the Nonprofit Studies Program, the International Studies Program, the Public Performance Management Group, and the W.J. Usery Workplace Research Group
- Provides consultation and ongoing research regarding educational reform, evaluation of the HOPE scholarship, public finance, Medicare reform, rural health care, child policy, the improvement of health care at the end of life, environmental quality, and urban sprawl
- Operates the largest experimental economics laboratory in the Southeast
- Provides technical assiatance to numerous international agencies, such as the Asian Developent Bank, the Government of Denmark, U.S.A.I.D., and the World Bank, among others
