Ethan Joselow - Research Associate

Mr. Joselow is a Research Associate with the Georgia Health Policy Center's Community Health System Development team. He provides direct technical assistance to grantees of the US Health Resources and Services Administration's Rural Health Outreach programs. Mr. Joselow connects communities with the information resources and expertise necessary for those programs to extend health services to underserved persons. Mr. Joselow comes to the Center having worked with Federally-Qualified Community Health Centers to develop a knowledge base for demonstrating the economic impacts that investments in health can have on economically depressed areas, as well as translating research on the cost-effectiveness of primary care in terms of avoiding illness, and the resulting sick days and emergency room visits. In addition to his work with health centers, Mr. Joselow has international health experience, conducting primary research for his Mater's thesis on corruption in the public health sector of the Indian state of Karnataka. He also worked for two years in Washington, DC at Academy Health on a team contracted to conduct educational activities for state and local health decision makers for the US Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's User Liaison Program. Educational topics ranged from Medicaid cost control to bioterrorism preparedness and strengthening of state health safety nets.
