Amanda Phillips Martinez - Research Associate

Amanda joins the Center after working at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where she was a Health Behavior Fellow within the Division of Reproductive Health.  In her role, she provided technical and administrative support to a national, multi-site community-based qualitative research project.

While studying at UNC, Amanda managed an international collaborative research project on the migration and sexual behavior of Mexican immigrants which brought together academic and community researchers to develop a community-based intervention to prevent HIV/AIDS.  She brings strong skills in qualitative data collection and analysis, as well as experience facilitating meaningful community involvement and the development and implementation of community health programs
