Natalie joined the Georgia Health Policy Center in November 2007 as a Research Associate after working as a Fiscal Analyst at the North Carolina General Assembly. In her role, she provided budgetary and policy analysis and recommendations to legislators that served on the Health and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee.
Natalie has also worked at the Center for Child and Family Policy at Duke University where she was a member of the evaluation team for the North Carolina Division of Social Services’ Multiple Response System and at Action for Children North Carolina (formerly the North Carolina Child Advocacy Institute) where she researched child maltreatment, juvenile justice, education, and child health and safety issues.
Additionally, Natalie has four combined years of direct practice work with children, families, and the developmental disabled. Most recently, Natalie worked for two years as a Child and Family Mental Health Counselor with a mental health agency in Raleigh, North Carolina. Natalie has also worked with children in the foster care and adoption systems and people living with developmental disabilities in group home settings.
Natalie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Social Work from North Carolina Central University and a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Management and Community Practice in Broad-Based Human Services from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
