Konstantin Pashev was a visiting professor from Center for the Study of Democracy in Sofia, Bulgaria under the Fulbright Senior Scholarship Program. Dr. Pashev has worked in the public administration and the private sector in Bulgaria, as well as on projects supporting institutional reforms as a senior economist of the World Bank in Sofia.

Currently he is a senior research fellow at the Economic Program of the Center for the Study of Democracy in Sofia, and is teaching Public Finance and Tax Administration at Sofia University and New Bulgarian University. He has authored papers and articles on taxation, tax evasion and the shadow economy, corruption in tax administration, regulatory constraints to business, competitiveness and intergovernmental fiscal relations.

His current research interests cover taxation of small and medium-sized enterprises, taxation and international competitiveness, compliance management and measurement.
