Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Visiting Professor

August 2001 - November 2002

Professor Sri Mulyani Indrawati was a visiting professor of economics in the department of economics of the Andrew Young School at Georgia State University from August 2001 to November 2002. At the time of her visit to Georgia State University, she was the director of LPEM ((Institute of Social and Economic Research) from the University of Indonesia in Jakarta.

She taught and mentored the Indonesian students in the USAID-funded Indonesian Masters program as well as gave several seminar presentations and co-authored articles and reports with faculty.

She also participated and helped organized the Andrew Young School conference, "Can Decentralization Help Rebuild Indonesia" which brought together policymakers and academics with expertise on the Indonesia decentralization experience. The papers presented at this conference were published by Edgar Elgar in an edited volume entitled Reforming Intergovernmental Fiscal Relations and the Rebuilding of Indonesia.

Upon finishing her year appointment at GSU, she accepted a post as the country liaison for Indonesia at the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
