Gustavo Javier Canavire-Bacarreza began the doctoral program in Economics in 2005. He earned a MA in Economics from Georgia State University and got an advanced studies degree from Kiel University in Germany. Prior to this he got the degree of Licenciatura from Universidad Catolica Boliviana.
Gustavo Javier Canavire-Bacarreza began the doctoral program in Economics in 2005. Prior to this he got the degree of Licenciatura from Universidad Catolica Boliviana.Before comming to Georgia State he worked as researcher for the Social and Economic Policy Analysis Unit (UDAPE-a governmnet advisory unit and public policy think tank in La Paz - Bolivia), the World Bank, the bolivian statistical office, the Universidad Catolica Boliviana and has been consultant for the Interamerican Development Bank and United Nations. He is affiliated at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA).
His main research interests are labor markets and development, econometrics, public finance, poverty, growth and trade.
