David Patino is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economic History and Institutions and Applied Economics at the University of Seville, Spain. His teaching experience includes core courses at the undergraduate and public finance courses at the graduate (master and doctoral) level. David obtained his doctoral degree in 2004 from the University of Malaga in Spain. His Dissertation, on regional tax incidence, was counted as one the three best works of its type, on economics, law and social topics of the country by the Economic and Social Council of Spain. Subsequently, this institution published the thesis as well. 

His research encompasses a wide variety of topics related with fiscal federalism. His most recent publications focus on topics such as fiscal balances, the determinants of regional financial systems of federal countries, and the economic impact of urban planning. In addition, his current work also focuses on the analysis of personal income distribution in Spain. He has published in some of the most prestigious economic journals in Spain, such as Revista de Estudios Regionales, Revista Vasca de Hacienda Pública, Revista de Economía Mundial and Revista de Economía Aplicada. He has also published a number of book chapters.
