- Aging Conference Data Digest: Data on the issues stemming from Georgia's Aging Population is available online.
- Barry Hirsch to join School in January: Hirsch fills the new W.J. Usery Jr. Chair of the American Workplace.
- AYSPS hires three new faculty members: New to the School are Jim Marton, Shena Ashley, and Cynthia Searcy.
- NSP gains funding: UPS Foundation makes a grant to support the Nonprofit Studies Program.
- Honors: PAUS student Lewis Faulk and Dr. Harvey Newman earned the 2007 Torch of Peace Award from Georgia State. The Office of Student Life and Leadership/Intercultural Relations selected Faulk in the Graduate Student category and Dr. Newman in the Faculty category. The awards will be presented at the 24th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Convocation.
- Study Abroad: The PAUS department has developed two
new study abroad programs, which will begin in 2007. Interested students are encouraged to begin the application process now.
- Policy Leadership (PAUS 4911), a special topics class offered in Spring semester, will open up the classroom and bring Atlanta leaders from businesses, nonprofits, and government to the Georgia State campus, to share their perspectives and help students test academic theory against the real-world experiences of men and women who have made it to the top.
- Research Atlanta reports are now posted on the Regional Atlanta Civic League website, under Research Atlanta, and then Studies.
