The Nonprofit Studies Program advances the exchange of ideas, the sharing of resources, and the opportunity for collaborative work among researchers in the nonprofit field. Some of the research is academic in nature, and is published in leading scholarly journals. Other research is intended for a broader audience, including nonprofit professionals working in the field. AYSPS researchers have published several important research projects for the local community, on such topics as philanthropy, social capital, financing of the arts, and homelessness. Much of our recent research is documented in our Working Papers and Research Reports pages.
The AYSPS faculty and research associates have particular strengths in nonprofit research and consulting in the following areas:
- Economics of the Nonprofit Sector
- Policy Analysis
- Strategic Management
- Leadership and Governance
- Nonprofit Finance and Resource Development
- Social Enterprise
- Public-Private Partnerships with Nonprofit and Faith-Based Organizations
- International Non-governmental Organizations
- Performance Measurement and Program Evaluation
