2006 UPS Lecture on Nonprofit Leadership, Governance and Economic Stewardship
The Nonprofit Studies Program hosted the UPS Lecture on Nonprofit Leadership, Governance and Economic Stewardship. This event took place on Friday, October 27, from 3:30-5:30pm, on the 7th floor of the AYSPS Building, 14 Marietta Street, NW, in Atlanta. The lecture addressed the topic "Challenges of Nonprofit Leaders in a Time of Scarcity and Scrutiny."
Our distinguished speaker was Herrington Bryce, Life of Virginia Professor of Business Administration at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. Professor Bryce specializes in financial and strategic management of nonprofits, and has recently published the book, Players in the Public Policy Process: Nonprofits as Social Capital and Agents.
This lecture was sponsored by a generous grant from the UPS Foundation. The event was open to the public, and was especially targeted for nonprofit community leaders. There was an informal "Meet and Greet" time from 3:30-4pm, attended by several students and interested people, followed by the lecture at 4pm. The event ended with a Q&A session.
