Membership

The American Humanics club at GSU is open to all GSU students, regardless of major or class standing.  Graduate and undergraduate students are welcome to join.  To read more about the club and to submit a request to join the club, you are welcome to visit our student club website on the GSU Student Clubs & Organization's website.

Our goal is to contribute to the growing need for nonprofit leaders to fulfill the opportunities within the nonprofit sector. The American Humanics certification gives students a cutting edge advantage over their potential counterparts by having specialized professional development and internship opportunities in their preferred area of concentration.  Preparing college students for nonprofit work is the main goal of American Humanics at GSU.  Gaining AH certification means having the skills necessary to succeed in a career in the nonprofit field.

Membership includes the opportunity to apply to become a Next Generation Nonprofit Leader and scholarship recipient! The AH Next Generation Nonprofit Leaders Program (NextGen) is a competitive internship scholarship/stipend program for American Humanics students. NextGen is designed to help a diverse group of students with demonstrated leadership potential complete their AH certification requirements, specifically the minimum 300-hour nonprofit internship. NextGen Leaders earn a scholarship of $4,500 from AH during their internship, along with access to and support from a network of nonprofit leaders who will serve as Career Coaches. To date, AH has identified almost 400 students nationwide as NextGen Leaders, awarding more than $1.7 million in scholarships.  Since Spring 2009, GSU has already been awarded three (3) NextGen leadership awards!
