ELPNO 2008

2008

The 2008 Executive Program in Nonprofit Organizations (ELPNO) program was organized by a partnership of the Nonprofit Studies Program and the Public Performance and Management Group of Georgia State University, the Georgia Center for Nonprofits and the Center on Ethics of Emory University. It was held at the Emory Conference Center between June 22nd and 27th, 2008 and was attended by 26 students from a variety of nonprofit fields and locations around the state of Georgia.

Helene Gayle, President of CARE, gave the keynote speech. A panel on governance was led by Sam Pettway of Boardwalk Consulting and featured Michael Kay, President of the Board of The Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta, Marjorie Fine Knowles, Professor and former Dean of the Georgia State College of Law, and Cathy Henson, President of the Board of the Georgia State University Foundation. Other special speakers included Ann Kramer of IBM, Trinita Logue of IFF (formerly Illinois Facilities Fund) and John Bare of the Blank Foundation. Participating GSU faculty included Harvey Newman, Mike Mescon, Deon Locklin, John O'Kane and Dennis Young. Also contributing were Edward Queen and Peter Topping from Emory, Virginia Hodgkinson from Georgetown, Janet Greenlee from the University of Dayton and John Bryson of the University of Minnesota.
