Welcome to the Department of Public Management and Policy in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies. We are glad you are interested in learning about our department and are hopeful that you will become a part of our stimulating and rewarding work.
The Department of Public Management and Policy's mission is to provide the highest quality instruction to future leaders of public and non-profit agencies and institutions and related private entities. We are also committed to preparing doctoral students who will be scholars in the areas of public administration and public policy. We are dedicated to our students’ success.
Our Master of Public Administration degree is highly ranked and well respected nationally. Our undergraduate and doctoral degree programs are equally strong.
The reason for our success is that our faculty, students, staff and alumni are committed to excellence in research and instruction in public administration, nonprofit management, and public policy. Through our core curriculum we are committed to providing our students with the essential tools to be successful. Through our elective courses and specializations we allow students to become proficient in their area of interest. Through our research and public service we endeavor to advance knowledge in the fields of public administration and public policy and to provide our students with cutting edge instruction.
As a part of the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, our department works with the Department of Economics and the school’s five research centers to provide our students with practical experience and to address the pressing needs of the public and nonprofit sector.
