The Nonprofit Leadership Alliance club at GSU is open to all GSU students, regardless of major or class standing. Graduate and undergraduate students are welcome to join. Our goal is to contribute to the growing need for nonprofit leaders to fulfill the opportunities within the nonprofit sector. The Nonprofit Leadership Alliance certification gives students a cutting edge advantage over their potential counterparts by having specialized professional development and internship opportunities in their preferred area of concentration. Preparing college students for nonprofit work is the main goal of Nonprofit Leadership Alliance at GSU. Gaining NLA certification means having the skills necessary to succeed in a career in the nonprofit field.
Membership includes the opportunity to apply to become a Next Generation Nonprofit Leader and scholarship recipient! The NLA Next Generation Nonprofit Leaders Program (NextGen) is a competitive internship scholarship/stipend program for Nonprofit Leadership Alliance students. NextGen is designed to help a diverse group of students with demonstrated leadership potential complete their NLA certification requirements, specifically the minimum 300-hour nonprofit internship. NextGen Leaders earn a scholarship of $4,500 from NLA during their internship, along with access to and support from a network of nonprofit leaders who will serve as Career Coaches. To date, NLA has identified almost 400 students nationwide as NextGen Leaders, awarding more than $1.7 million in scholarships.
