Melissa Haberlen is an attorney and senior research associate at the Georgia Health Policy Center (GHPC). She has experience in health policy research, health law analysis and advisement, employer group health management, health benefits contract procurement and negotiation, human rights law, and project management.
Her health policy research experience encompasses a variety of topics, including child and adolescent behavioral health, childhood obesity, food policy, child injury prevention, adolescent patient confidentiality, medical malpractice, patient safety and quality of care, financial exploitation of the elderly, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act.
Haberlen is part of GHPC’s Medicaid policy and business team and the Center of Excellence for Children’s Behavioral Health team. At GHPC Haberlen is involved in health law regulatory reviews and compliance assessments, annual state agency report drafting, and development of Leading through Health System Change: A Public Health Opportunity Planning Tool.
