In 1996, the Office of School Readiness commissioned a longitudinal study
of the effectiveness of Georgia's Prekindergarten (Pre-K) Program in preparing
four year-olds to be successful in school. The purpose of this study is
to understand how differences in children's Pre-K experiences and their
experiences during primary school influence their success in school. This
executive summary presents the major findings from the fifth and final
year of the study conducted by the Applied Research Center at Georgia
State University. The full report provides details of the findings and
the methods used in the study. View the news
