The work of the Council for School Performance is now done by the Office
of Education Accountability. The purpose of this page is to provide
archival information on publications done by the Council for School Performance,
and on trend data on schools and school systems.
The Council for School Performance was an independent organization, created
by the Governor and General Assembly of Georgia and housed at the former
Applied Research Center at Georgia State University. The Council
provided the public with information about the performance of Georgia's
public schools and school systems, and conducted evaluations of educational
programs in Georgia.
As part of a reorganization of the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies,
the Applied Research Center discontinued operations effective June 30,
2002. Many of the talented researchers
and staff members will continue under
the direction of the Andrew Young School's Domestic Program and
the School's Georgia Health Policy Center.
