Economics Research Fields
Each student chooses one field as a primary field and another field as a secondary field (secondary field optional). A comprehensive exam must be passed in the primary field. Additionally, courses from other fields can be taken to satisfy the elective course requirements. Students may write a dissertation that combines topics from multiple fields, and they may work with faculty across different fields.
The PhD program offers specialization in six research fields:
- Environmental
- Experimental
- Health
- Labor
- Public
- Urban
