Xianchen Hou is a PhD student in public policy. Her current research interests focus on public finance, including subnational government budgeting, state and local taxation, and municipal bond market. She is also interested in meta-analysis, econometrics, and machine learning regarding causal inferences in policy studies. Xianchen holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law and a master’s degree in economics from the Central University of Finance and Economics. Beyond her academic pursuits, she is a passionate recreational runner who enjoys long, steady-distance runs and participating in marathons.
