Okafor, Chinweolu
Chinweolu Okafor is a doctoral student in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Georgia State University and a graduate research assistant for the Evidence-Based Cybersecurity Research Group. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Law from Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Nigeria in 2015, and a Master of Laws degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 2020. In his more than seven years of legal practice, he advised clients on matters related to cybersecurity, data privacy, corporate-commercial transactions, real estate, and probate practice. His research interest is in the intersection of law and criminology in combating online cybercrime deviance. He is particularly interested in understanding how human behavior in cyberspace creates the opportunity for financially motivated cybercrime victimization. Prior to joining Georgia State University, he consulted for a top-tier law firm in Columbus, Ohio where he provided advice on cybersecurity and data privacy.
