- Biography
Dr. Snyder’s work focuses on applied research, policy and program evaluation, and technical assistance in program implementation for state- and community-level health projects. Her research uses both qualitative and quantitative data (including administrative databases) to study the health outcomes that result from the organization and financing of public health systems.
At the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, Dr. Snyder serves as one of the directors of the Georgia Health Policy Center and is a research professor in the Department of Public Management and Policy. She also has a joint faculty appointment with the School of Public Health.
Her current research focuses on evaluating policy options for increasing health insurance coverage for children and the quality of care received by children enrolled in PeachCare for Kids (Georgia’s Children’s Health Insurance Program). Recently, she has provided Medicaid and maternal health policy guidance for the Health Resources and Services Administration-funded Maternal Health Learning and Innovation Center, housed at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Snyder also directs the Georgia Public Health Research and Surveillance for Hemoglobinopathies projects in partnership with the Georgia Department of Public Health. These federally funded projects focus on surveillance of and health promotion for individuals with hemoglobin disorders.
Snyder founded and is a current member of the leadership team for the Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health & Wellbeing (COE). Her research activities within the Center of Excellence focus on integrating data sources to provide a holistic view of Georgia’s behavioral health system of care and enable longitudinal tracking of individual-level and system outcomes.
Snyder is a member of Georgia’s All Payer Claims Data Release Review Committee, Mindworks Georgia, the Multi Agency Treatment Team for Children Committee, and the Infant and Early Child Mental Health Taskforce as part of her work with the COE and Georgia’s child-serving agencies.
