Deidre Carmichael is the Child Welfare Training Evaluation Coordinator. She is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing training evaluation for social services training programs. As a member of the Professional Excellence staff, Deidre also designs instruction, facilitates Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) training, and provides consultation and technical assistance to the state CQI unit. Deidre has worked in training and staff development for 13 years. She began her work in child welfare as a foster care case manager. She has also done foster and adoptive home recruitment and served as a post-adoption services administrator. Deidre holds a Master of Social Work degree and is a Ph.D. candidate in the Adult Education, Learning and Organization Development program at the University of Georgia. Her research interests include learning transfer, performance improvement, and individual and organizational change. Deidre is an avid reader and writer and loves to travel. On vacation, she would most likely be found on the beach with a good book, a pen, and a journal.
