Deidre Carmichael

Deidre Carmichael is the Project Director of the Professional Excellence (PE) Program. The PE program provides training, professional development, and continuing education opportunities to various human services professionals. Deidre provides leadership and oversight of the various programs included under the PE umbrella including the Child Welfare Training Collaborative and the Training for Adoption Competency (TAC) program in Georgia.  Deidre has worked in training and staff development for over 20 years.  She began her work in child welfare as a foster care case manager and has worked in various roles within the child welfare system. Deidre holds a Master of Social Work degree and a Ph.D. in Adult Education with an emphasis in Human Resource and Organization Development. Her research interests include learning transfer, performance improvement, and individual and organizational change.
