Ellen Ballard
Clinical Instructor Department of Criminal Justice & Criminology- Biography
Ellen Ballard is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Georgia State University. Her research is focused on how individuals with major mental disorders experience the criminal justice system. Her other research interests include desistence from crime and substance and quantitative methods. Her work appears in Criminal Justice Policy Review, Journal of Interpersonal Violence, and Substance Abuse and Rehabilitation. Ellen has previously served as the independent evaluator for the Fulton County Superior Court’s Adult Felony Drug Court and Veteran’s Court. Ellen teaches Mental Health Issues in the Criminal Justice System, Research Methods, and Perspectives courses focusing on violence and aggression and injustice in the criminal justice system.
