Jennifer Giarratano
PR Manager Dean's Office- Biography
Jennifer F. Giarratano, public relations manager, plans, develops and executes communication, marketing and media relations programs for the Andrew Young School. She began working for the school in 2001 as a freelance writer before joining the Dean’s Office in 2006.
Giarratano manages a team of staff and graduate assistants who promote the school’s policy and public management-related research, programs and people – students, faculty, alumni and friends – and their excellence in the areas of criminal justice and criminology, economics, public management and policy, and social work.
Prior to joining the Andrew Young School, Giarratano managed a freelance business and has held positions at the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Central Atlanta Progress, American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay, Atlanta Women’s Fund and The Children’s School (Atlanta).
Her freelance clients have included the Georgia Small Business Development Center, the former Atlanta Development Authority (now Invest Atlanta), Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, Georgia Department of Economic Development, Georgia Municipal Association, Georgia Power Company, McKenna Long & Aldridge, LLP (now Dentons), Southern Education Foundation and a number of chambers of commerce. Her stories have been published in Georgia Trend, Atlanta Woman Magazine, Economic Development Commentary, TechLINKS and Blue Ridge Outdoors.
Giarratano holds a B.A. in Communications from Auburn University.
