- Biography
LaVon Scott is a senior training specialist at the Georgia Health Policy Center with the Center of Excellence for Children’s Behavioral Health. His area of expertise includes managing individuals with severe and persistent mental illness utilizing recovery oriented Cognitive Therapy (CT-R). He holds a bachelor’s in psychology as well as Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy (CT-R) certification.
Current projects include working as an elite trainer on the Beck Initiative and the Transformation Transfer Initiative, in collaboration with the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. Scott’s focus is on implementing and expanding CT-R training and consultation throughout the DBHDD network. He facilitates intensive workshops and provides ongoing consultation on the CT-R model to mental health providers across the state, with the ultimate goal of assisting individuals with severe and persistent mental illness in overcoming roadblocks to recovery and to sustain integration in the community.
